Sinéad is a singer, songwriter, and facilitator from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. Her writing has been described as reflective, full of soul and thoughtfulness and she is particularly drawn to covering old time folk and trad songs.
Sinéad is currently recording her debut solo album titled ‘four o’clock & moonflower’. She also facilitates groups to sing, just for the fun of it. Her educational and professional background in psychology and mental health informs her work with groups and with individuals, in applying songwriting as a therapeutic tool and creative means to looking at challenging issues.
Prior to lock down, as a group work and one to one training and rehabilitation facilitator and life coach, Sinéad worked with adults with a broad range of psychological and social challenges. Sinéad is also a childrens book author, composing and publishing the Smelly Adams children’s song book during the latter half of 2022. Following lockdown, she decided to blend her skills, experience and education and start to build her own business. As well as her group and one to one work mentioned above Sinéad creates, hosts and performs music for events and functions, anything from intimate celebrations to art festivals and she especially enjoys collaborating with other creators and artists. She is currently recording her first original music solo album and she is founder and host of Teach na Sean Ghaeilge (Old Irish House) NIght at The Himalayan Café in The Cathedral Quarter Letterkenny - a multicultural community-focused gathering around the symbolic hearth. Folks gather in the spirit of song, story, poetry delicious food and other shenanigans. Sinead is also co-founder and former co-host of a music and tapas evening at An Stad restaurant Rathmullan called Frida Fridays which runs weekly in support of emerging singer songwriters.
